Ethics

What Matters Most in Life?, by PragerU

Lesson plan

Test Ethics and the Environment

Ethics and the environment

Businesses can choose to work in a way that profits only the owners or in ways that benefit the community. Working ethically means acting in ways that are both fair and honest. Ethical businesses try to keep the impact of their operations on the environment to a minimum.

What is ethical behaviour?

A person who displays ethical behaviour often possesses a strong moral standard and a consistent value system. Ethics might be motivated by personal beliefs or the desire to improve the world. Individuals who show ethical conduct typically do what's right, irrespective of whether they receive recognition for it. This type of behaviour is not exclusive to the work environment. It may encompass all aspects of life. In a business environment, a company typically expects ethical conduct from every employee, team leader, and manager. Observing ethics in the workplace can help employees act honestly and fairly in their interactions with colleagues and customers.
